About Mr. Kosi
Professional Experience
Adam Kosi currently teaches IB Music, Product Team, Class Guitar, Freshmen Band, Vocal Music, and Symphonic Band at the International Academy of Macomb. In addition to these courses, he also leads the Jazz Band, Pep Band, and Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter at the IAM. He started his teaching career at L’Anse Creuse High School in the fall of 2000, Where he still directs the jazz program and assists with the marching band. He joined the staff of the IAM in 2009 and took on full-time responsibilities in 2014. During his tenure, the music program has grown in size (starting with less than 40 students) and has added additional opportunities including Jazz Band, Pep Band, IB Music, and various festivals & performances. The IAM Music Department has developed a reputation for musical excellence and performs frequently throughout the school year.
Mr. Kosi is also an active member of numerous music education organizations including the Michigan School Vocal Music Association, the Michigan Competing Band Association, and the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association. He has served as Vice President for District XVI Solo & Ensemble and is currently the District XVI Vice President for MSBOA.
Personal Life
Mr. Kosi is happily married to his wife Jamie, an elementary teacher, and loves to spend time with their daughters Addison & Gracelyn and son Jackson. When he has free time, Adam enjoys performing, camping, biking, concerts, and sporting events.
